Bacteriostatic Emulsifier

  1. Emulsifier mix which diglycerine monomyristate is used as a main ingredient
  2. Having a wide range of bacteriostatic effect against heat resistant bacterial spores (mid temp. ~ high temp) and other bacteria
  3. This product remains fluid in low temperature during storing condition so that it is easy to handle

POEM DM-25H enables to disperse into low temperature water easily.

Measuring Conditions

Total amount: 200g (300ml Beaker)
Add POEM DM-25H: 25g
Propeller (φ5cm): 200rpm

X axis: Water Temperature (°C) as Dispersing Medium

POEM DM-25H Bacteriostatic Effect to Heat Resistant Bacterial Spores (Moderate Temperature Bacteria) : Culture Media Test

Procedure
  1. Standard agar culture media + Emulsifier
  2. Autoclave sanitation (121°C, 20min)
  3. Put 100CFU active spore suspension liquid on a plate
    (Specimen under test: Bacillus licheniformis, Bacillus coagulans)
  4. Spread active spore suspension liquid and solidify the culture media
  5. Store at 37°C, cultivate for 2 days and count colony

Result



Bacteriostatic Effect Against Cross-Contamination in Milk (20°C, 1week)
  1. Add DM-25H into 100% milk
  2. Maintain at 65°C for 10 min
  3. Go through Piston homogenizer (15MPa)
  4. Fill into a bottle
  5. Put it for autoclave sterilization
  6. Add 20CFU cross-contaminated bacteria(B. licheniformis/B. flexus)
  7. Store at 20°C for 1Week
  8. Count living bacteria in 1ml of test culture

Bacteriostatic Effect to Soy Beverage

Use general soy beverage (Solid soy 5%)

  1. Add POEM DM-25H
  2. Maintain at 65°C for 10min
  3. Go through TK homogenizer (1000rpm. 3min)
  4. Fill into a can, take out some cross-contaminated bacteria (104CFU)
  5. Put it for hot water sterilization (65°C, 30min)
  6. Store at 30°C for 4 weeks
  7. Measure Ph, antibacterial evaluation by flavor
